Durostone® grades, CHP, CAS and CAG
were developed to cover the majority of applications
within the PCB assembly industry. The sector of the industry
that these materials did not cover was with certain types of
fluxes in the wave soldering process in high volume
production environments.
The fluxes that affected the standard 3 grades were those,
i) containing a halide and had a ANSI J-STD-004
classification of ORH1.
ii) containing a high percentage of isopropyl alcohol, >97% and a ANSI J-STD-004 classification of ORL0.
With these types of flux, if run in a high volume
environment with a solder pallet return cycle time of less
than 30 minutes, degradation of the resin can occur within a
short period of time.
If running with these parameters, Permali Composites advises
to use the new grade developed specifically for this
purpose. Durostone® CCR-766 is extremely resistant to halides
and alcohol and internal laboratory tests have shown that it
can withstand many cycles in harsh environments. |

Note:
Do not use Durostone® CCR-766 in the SMT process. It has been
specifically developed for a wave soldering environment with
short exposures to extreme temperature. |
